John Taylor guilty of being found at large in the Kingdom having been tried at the Staffordshire Assizes on 5^th August 1740 for a burglary in the dwelling house of Elizabeth Brown in the parish of Abbots Bromley on 19^th July 1740 and stealing therefrom stays (valued at 4/-), a quilted petticoat (valued at 2/-), 2 flaxen shirts (valued at 2/-), a hempen shift (valued at 1/-), a Holland shift (valued at 3/-), a flaxen tablecloth (value at 2/-), a Holland apron (valued at 2/-), a linen and woollen apron (value at 1/-), 5 pounds of pork (value at 1/3), bacon (value at 6d), 2 pounds of bread (valued at 2d), 6 pounds of cheese (valued at 1/-) and 5/4½ in money numbered; found guilty and was sentenced to transportation.  No reprieve traced.
